The Marylebone Liberal Democrats are calling on Labour-run Westminster City Council to take stronger action to tackle the ongoing problem of badly parked e-bikes across our area. Residents have raised mounting concerns about e-bikes left blocking pavements, creating hazards for wheelchair users, parents with buggies, and pedestrians.
Local Liberal Democrats have launched a petition calling for more to be done to manage e-bike parking, including clearer rules for operators, properly designated parking bays, and consistent enforcement where bikes are left obstructing pavements. Campaigners say the Labour Council’s current approach is inadequate and fails to protect residents’ right to safe, accessible streets.
Local campaigner, Martin Kersh, said:
“The Liberal Democrats have been campaigning on this issue for a long time and we’re determined to hold the Council to account. Residents shouldn’t have to weave around bikes dumped on pavements - it’s time for proper management and real action that puts pedestrians first.”
The Lib Dems are encouraging residents to support the campaign by signing the petition and joining calls for safer, better-managed streets across Marylebone.
