The deficit of social housing in Westminster is alarming with few affordable homes built in recent times by the council. It is Lib Dem’s priority to address this. It is disappointing that Labour has failed to hold the Conservatives accountable.

The Council cannot meet social housing targets without working with developers, but the relationship must always be transparent.

The system clearly needs fixing.

If elected we will make sure that discussions of individual property schemes held between Councillors and developers are recorded or witnessed, regardless of where they take place. The details of the meetings will be made available to the public.

Most importantly we will commit to including social housing in any new property development so we can start to address the lack of affordable housing in Westminster.
